Powering discovery: Mahuika surpasses 5 million jobs

Near the end of March, our HPC Platform, Mahuika, reached an exciting milestone, processing its 5 millionth job.

The job was submitted by Dr Lekshmi Dinachandran from the University of Otago, who is using Mahuika to model nanoscale behaviours of hydrogen storage materials. Stay tuned to our Case Studies page to learn more about her project and how Mahuika supports her work.

Mahuika: One year on

This milestones marks nearly one year since Mahuika's first early access users were welcomed onto the system following a migration and expansion of the national HPC platform to the Tāmaki Data Centre in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland in early 2025.
