As a Data Science Engineer, you will work closely with researchers across New Zealand to design, build, and deploy AI and data-driven solutions that address and tackle real world research challenges.
Alongside hands-on technical work, you will contribute to building machine learning and data science capability across the research community through mentoring, training, and the promotion of modern research software practices.

We are seeking a Research Communities Advisor to join our Science Engagement team. This is a fixed-term maternity cover role, running until approximately September or October 2026.
As a Research Communities Advisor, you will support Aotearoa New Zealand’s research communities by building strong relationships, understanding their needs, and helping connect them with advanced digital and eResearch capabilities.
This is a varied, hands-on role with a strong community focus.
