APAN62 coming to Aotearoa, August 2026 hosted by REANNZ

Planning is ramping up for the next Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) Meeting and Conference to be held in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland.

In August 2026, REANNZ will host APAN62, an international gathering of experts, providers, and pioneers of digital infrastructure supporting research, education and innovation across the Asia Pacific region.

APAN Ltd. is both a non-profit association representing APAN member institutions, and a backbone network connecting member countries and regions to each other and to other international research and education networks.

APAN meets twice each year around a five-day calendar of keynote speakers, working groups, special interest sessions, interactive workshops and social events. Sessions are open to anyone and everyone.

During a handover ceremony at the closing of APAN61 in Bangladesh last week, REANNZ Chief Executive Amber McEwen invited delegates to Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland for APAN62 running 10-14 August 2026.

“It is an honour to host this international event and the opportunity to showcase our world-famous manaakitanga with delegates.

“APAN62 promises to be a valuable five days of innovation, collaboration and connection and our planning is well underway!

“As we work up a diverse programme of speakers, presentations and workshops, I know there will be something for everyone whether you are a CEO, CIO, network specialist, HPC architect, AI or security expert, early career professional or researcher."

APAN62 will also include the 4th International Conference on Advanced Network Technologies and Applications inviting submissions that showcase the integration of cutting-edge digital infrastructure and applications, and regionally significant digital solutions across health, agriculture, education, and environmental domains.

“Our focus is on ensuring we can deliver an event that maximises opportunities for knowledge sharing, meaningful discussion and making new connections," says Amber.

“There will also be a liberal dose of kiwi culture and hospitality for everyone to enjoy.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available for anyone who wants to get amongst the expected 300 tech-savvy delegates from around the Asia Pacific region.
