News and Events New Head of Engagement and Marketing Appointed Chief Executive Amber McEwen has today announced the appointment of Brett Calton (Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa) as the new Head of Engagement and Marketing. Brett is currently the Chief Product Officer at Callaghan Innovation, where he has been working since September 2020. He joins REANNZ on 17 June. “Brett is a strategic and commercial executive leader with a proven track record of driving transformational change and delivering operational excellence," says Amber. “We are thrilled that he will be joining REANNZ at this time of significant growth, as we integrate the people, services and technologies of New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI) into REANNZ on 1 July. “Brett’s skills in strategy development and delivery, in leading through change, customer excellence and dealing with complexity will be invaluable as we build a new future for eResearch infrastructure in New Zealand.” Brett’s experience spans both the public and private sector and includes senior roles with Creative HQ, EY and Inland Revenue. He also played a critical role at the Ministry of Health as the Covid-19 Response Manager. REANNZ’s current Head of Engagement John Graham has been appointed to the new position of Head of Business and Sector Development, responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for REANNZ, including potential partnerships and market expansion.
