The New Zealand Institute for the Study of Competition and Regulation at Victoria University of Wellington is hosting the 2010 International Telecommunications Society Asia-Pacific regional conference on 26-28 August.
This theme of this event is 'Telecommunications: Ubiquity and equity in a broadband environment'. The deployment of increasingly faster and more capable broadband technologies around the world poses significant questions for telecommunications firms, regulators and policy-makers.
These challenges will require new ways of thinking about the policies traditionally addressing these questions.
Papers addressing these themes are welcomed from members of the academic, industry and policy communities. Papers from KAREN users are especially welcome. Papers applying insights from other infrastructure industries (e.g. electricity, transport) to telecommunications are also welcome. Presenters of all accepted papers will be required to register for the conference (registration fee approximately US $500).
Abstracts of 200-250 words should be sent in MSWord or PDF format to iscrconference2010@vuw.ac.nz by April 15, 2010.
The author(s) of accepted papers will be notified by May 15, 2010.
Completed manuscripts must be received by July 15, 2010.
Questions should be addressed to: Bronwyn Howell bronwyn.howell@vuw.ac.nz or Kathy McKenzie kathy.mckenzie@vuw.ac.nz
The conference, hosted by the New Zealand Institute for the Study of Competition and Regulation, will be held in the Old Government Buildings at the Pipitea Campus of Victoria University, located in the heart of the business and government area of downtown Wellington.
